Apple's March 2026 Event: Fast, Affordable — and Still Consuming Our Time.
Apple held its spring event this week, unveiling a new lineup of devices that are faster, thinner, and more affordable than ever before. The reviews have been glowing. The sales numbers will be impressive. And yet, from the perspective of Technology Airtime, the question remains: are these devices actually reducing the time we waste using technology?
Technology Airtime is defined as the time when you are waiting on the technology, or the technology is waiting on you. Faster hardware helps with the second half of that equation — the time you spend waiting for the computer to respond. But it does nothing about the first half — the time the computer spends waiting for you.
Until Apple — and every other technology company — addresses both sides of the Technology Airtime equation, the gauge will remain the same: how much time are you wasting, and what are you going to do about it?
