We decided to see what Chat GPT and X's Grok thought about Technology Airtime.
We asked ChatGPT: "What is Technology Airtime?"
ChatGPT responded: "Technology airtime refers to the time that a person spends using technology, such as computers, smartphones, tablets, and other electronic devices. This can include time spent browsing the internet, using social media, playing video games, watching videos, or using any other type of technology-based entertainment or communication platform."
Interesting. ChatGPT defines Technology Airtime as all the time you are using a computer. But that is not the correct definition.
Technology Airtime is defined as the time when you are waiting on the technology, or the technology is waiting on you. It is the wasted time — the inefficiency — not the total time spent using technology.
We then asked Grok the same question. Grok's answer was similar to ChatGPT's — it recognized the concept of wasted time in computing, but called it "Wait Time" or "Response Time" rather than Technology Airtime.
The conclusion: AI knows about the problem. It just does not yet know the name. That is about to change.
